Vases, Bouquets & Floral Arrangments - Part 2

Part 2

All the flowers included in here were all arranged between Spring and Summer of 2015. When the farmers prepared the fields before the planting season, they have scattered seeds of the red flowered poppies and blue onions flowers on the sides of the dirt track.

And when all the seeds popped-up and began to bloom,  an array of red and blue flowerettes jumpacked the road.  It was so beautiful last year! I hope it will be the same this season.

Sometimes, I got roses at home (gifts) and I combined those with the yellow roses
I picked from the backyard.

I  gathered various wildflowers whenever I walked Lily. I would combined
those with what  I ´ve had on hand.

The peonies behind were obtained from the nearby fresh market whereas the
yellow roses were from our backyard.

Last summer, I saw these berries from a nearby creek.... there were so plenty that I picked  a small portion for me to be able to arrange them in the crystal basket above. Of course, they hae been flowers too and then grew into berries...

All I knew is that they were so colorful and that it would look nice if arrange these together with the green leaves.  The one thing I´m not sure of is whether they are edible.

I found the handpainted vase above and bought it at a fraction of a cost and if I remember it right, I paid 0,60 euro cents for it at a local flea market. Combined with the salvias above, I think this is one of my favorite arrangements last year. The doily or table napkin is of mexican in origin.

I live in an area in the outskirts of the city of Vienna and our district is surrounded by fields that are owned by the city. So I guess, I´m lucky to have all these wildflowers waiting to be picked.

Sunflower field is also available in our area... the farmers sell these flowers on a self-service basis. You just pay  for what you cut, there´s no cashier to control. Honesty is the best policy..

That wraps it all!

I sure hope that Spring would bring us plenty of wildflowers. I´m waiting for the lilacs to come and smell its wonderful fragrance. And of course, there´s plenty of time to prepare and begin planting those flowery plants... can´t wait for Spring to come... How about you?

Thanks for dropping by and have a nice week ahead!

autumn beats and tulips .....

Hurray!
The weather forecast had been good, it´s going to be sunny
over the weekend!  Today, we had a very foggy and
misty morning with temps ranging between 3°C and 4°C.
But, I was sure though that it would become milder
as the morning went on.

And then....the sun came out and I was overjoyed!
My plan for today to work in the garden became perfect!
By  10 o´clock, we hit 11°C.

My workplan today was to set the tulip bulbs
in the soil before we reach the freezing temperatures.

I went to the discount store where I bought the beautiful
tulips I planted last year, but I missed their offer :-(((
Panic got in me...  just thought that "if  I don´t get them now,
there will be no tulips in my garden next year!"

Off we went to the next garden center and I had my lucky day!

These tulip bulbs from Holland (above) totalling to 55 pieces were
discounted by 25% Yuhuuu!

I love the autumn colors especially when my neighbour´s birch tree becomes
golden yellow. It is so lovely to look at from my window.

These are the tulips I´ve had last Spring and if all of the 55 pieces
would
grow like them, I´d be the happiest gardener
in this world!

We´ve placed the bird´s feeder a bit higher on the apple tree....

...and this is the area where I did the planting today.
I placed the metal fence back to its place now to prevent Geisha,
my neighbour´s  visiting cat, to spoil the bulbs.

Spring 2015

I really  wish and pray that the 55 bulbs would grow
as gorgeous as the the last Pink Tulips below.

Have a nice Sunday ahead!

it´s gladiola time ....

Yes it is..... gladiola time!
They´re here again and blooming so wonderfully on that field
a few meters away from our house..

These are the ones I cut & picked today and arranged them in a tall vase.
Looking so good, the pink ones are the
 loveliest shades for me.

So many varieties and all with beautiful colors... each is so unique  and has its
own characteristics. Each bloom seems to be smiling at us awaiting
 to be cut!

From dark hues to lighter shades, they all stand out on its own.
My favorites are the ones with pastel colors especially the pink and violet ones.

The buds of each stalk  started to open end of last week ...  they´re just
beginning to bloom now and already spreading joy
to all passers-by.

I just hope the blooms will still be  there til Fall!  But that would be
impossible because they are for sale, everyone´s
picking and picking each day.
Oh well, just maybe!

Have a great Tuesday!

a bouquet of roses and wildflowers...

The plan was to combine the yellow roses with the
pink ones I got last week......and surely, together
with the wildflowers ,  it turned out to be
a stunning bouquet.

Never did I think that the yellow roses from the
garden would be  a great company to the
  wildflowers  I´ve  gathered from today´s
 dog walk.

It´s always  a good feeling to see your work turning
out beautifully and I hope you feel  the
same  way too in your own undertaking.

Enjoy the rest of the photos!

Thank you for now...I´m so glad you´ve visited.
I hope you´ll come back again!

Happy Thursday!
